Characters:
Summary: In the future, a great earthquake destroys much of Tokyo. It is rebuilt by a company named Genom, with the help of Voomers - highly advanced robots. With this new technology comes a new form of crime, as rogue Voomers (known as Boomers) terrorize the people of Genom (the new name for Tokyo). Because of this, an elite police unit is formed, the A.D. Police. One officer, Kenji Sasaki is notorious for losing his partners in the line of duty, and for disobeying orders. After his partner Paul is put in the hospital, Kenji is given a new partner, Hans, a man he immediately dislikes.
Commentary: When I first starting watching this series, I didn't think I would like it. I figured it would be all about this special unit and all the missions they went on - lots of action, but little substance. Of course, I was quickly proven wrong, as this anime is very much about substance, and the relationships that develop among people who risk their lives every day. We see them grow as characters and each episode brings us to a better understanding of the characters or plot (not much filler in this one). Be sure to check out this title - thanks to ADV, you can get the entire series in one DVD set (or rent it at Blockbuster, which is what I did).
Rating: 10/10
Reasons for Rating: Good animation, great music, lots of emotion and character development, but still enough action to keep anyone entertained.
