Summary: A "young" girl and skilled swordsman, Saya, must use her great strength and skill to fight evil blood-sucking creatures called Chiropteans. She and the organization she works for find out that only three of these creatures remain and are hiding out in a U.S. Air Force in 1966 Japan. She is sent in to pose as a student at the base school to find the creatures and kill them.

Commentary: Just a few comments. First of all, way too short! I was left wanting so much more - I wanted to know more about Saya, more about the creatures she fought (which I found out from the movie website that they were called Chiropteans), more about the organization she worked for, even more about the silly school nurse that got mixed up in the whole thing. I enjoyed the strength and skill of Saya's character, but I felt like I didn't know her at all. Blood is definitely beautiful to look at - when I first saw it, I was rather impressed by the realism of the background. Then I found out it was all CGI, and was a little less impressed. The animated characters over the pure CGI background makes things look a little less than seamless and almost a little jerky. All in all, a good anime. The storyline was intriguing and it was beautiful to look at. Little lacking in character development.

Rating: 6/10
Reasons for Rating: Beautiful to look at and interesting concept, but short and lacking in character deveopment.
