Summary: Young Hideki is a ronin, a person who has finished high school but failed the college entrance exam and is forced to go to "Cram School." After growing up on a farm, Hideki moves to the big city for school where he is forced to get a job in order to pay his rent. He is shocked on his trip to the big city to see many people with walking computers called Persocoms, and wants more than anything to have one of his own. This is when he finds one, in the trash. But when he turns her on, all she can say is "Chi." In addition, she seems to have no operating system installed, making her an anomaly. And the relationship between this persocom, named Chi, and Hideki begins!

Commentary: I LOVE CHOBITS! I found out about Chobits when it was recommended to me on Amazon, and everyone had really good things to say about the anime. I was at a book store and had some extra money, so I decided to pick up volume 1 of the manga and check it out before I bothered buying a DVD. I'm so glad I did this, because I fell in love. This is probably my favorite manga!
