Summary: Kato will stop at nothing to awaken Masakato, the guardian of Tokyo. However, his purpose is revenge and destruction, not salvation. When the Tatsumiya family becomes accidentally involved in Kato's plot, the devastation for both the family and the city is immense. This story is set during the devastating earthquake of 1923 and gives an alternate (supernatural) explanation for the disaster that destroyed much of Tokyo.

Commentary: This anime has a rather complicated storyline. Not only that, but many actions are left unexplained, creating even more mystery and confusion. Aside from that, the storyline is good and provides an interesting second look at the earthquake of 1923, and really at all earthquakes. The characters are good, though (of course) not free of tragic flaws. I would recommend this to anime fans (not ones under about 16 though - LOTS of adult content), but maybe you should rent or borrow this title first.
