Summary: .hack//LIMINALITY is part of a multitude of works on the story of The World, an online role playing game. This series takes place in the real world, instead of in The World like .hack//SIGN, and shows the effects of the net on life in the real world. A young girl, Mai, who played the game with her boyfriend, is rushed to the hospital. Miraculously, she awakens, while her boyfriend, and many other players, remain in a coma. She teams up with others to try to unravel the mystery of The World.

Commentary: This series is definitely important for .hack fans, although I don't think I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't already watch at least .hack//SIGN or play the games. For those who enjoy .hack, it helps to answer many of the questions and gives more insight into the mystery. Basically, don't watch it if you're not really a .hack fan.
