Summary: Lord Il Pallazo wants to save the world. The best way to do that? Take over the world! This is why he forms the secret organization ACROSS and "hires" (more like enslaves) young Excel to do this dirty/happy-world-saving work. Excel, eager and loving of Il Pallazo, will do anything he says, though not very well. Most of her missions fail. But luckily for her, the Great Will of the Macrocosm keeps her from dying. And at least she has her faithful dog (aka: emergency food supply) Menchi and her new recruit Hyatt (aka: Ha-Chan) to keep her company.
Commentary: Crazy, zany and laugh-out-loud funny! This series rivals FLCL on the weirdness factor (though without all the philosophizing). You will love Excel for her eagerness and persistence, and you'll get a kick out of the ending song, sung by Menchi-the-dog (yes, Menchi is a dog, though you may think he is a cat the first few times you see him). Who couldn't love a howled song with a human translator handy? Watch Excel Saga just once and you will be hooked!
