Summary: Kimihiro Watanuki sees ghosts and spirits. They frighten him as they would anybody, and he would do anything to be rid of this sight. One day, he stumbles upon a woman named Yuuko, who says she will grant his wish in return for equal payment. That payment is to become Yuuko's employee in her strange shop. As Kimihiro works with her to pay his debt before his wish is granted, he sees many strange things in the world of the occult and learns more about both the supernatural and himself.

Commentary: As this manga is by CLAMP, it has many previous CLAMP characters pop up here and there. So if you enjoy CLAMP, you'll have fun seeing the characters in different situations and realities. Of course, if you're looking for cutesy CLAMP, look elsewhere. xxxHolic is a rather dark story, though there is some lightness and humor to it. Though I wouldn't recommend this story to the younger crowd, I do believe that if you enjoy CLAMP at all that you would like xxxHolic. It has everything a good CLAMP story has - fascinating characters that all have their missions and goals driving their actions, great art, intriguing and deep storyline and a little bit of fun thrown in.
